Iodine In Feed

Iodine is critical during pregnancy and for the developing fetus. Iodine is important in the treatment of foot rot and ringworm in cattle. 95% of total iodine is accumulated in the thyroid gland where it is incorporated into the thyroid hormones which have multiple functions in energy metabolism of cells, growth of cells, transmitters of nervous stimuli and is an important function in brain development. Iodine is critical to the thermoregulation of the body, by creating extra heat during cold stress and dissipating heat during heat stress. Iodine is also involved in lactation, muscle function, immune defense, and normal blood and lymph circulation. EDDI is a very highly bioavailable source of iodine. Excess levels of iodine can cause persistent cough, hyperthermia, naso-ocular discharge, dermatitis and loss of weight.
